The Baseball Academy

Job Description:
The intern will assess, improve, and monitor various indicators of physical and psychological health and fitness (e.g., strength, speed, flexibility, resiliency, self-esteem/confidence) for clients between the ages of 4 and 18. He or she will also assist in coaching and leading elite baseball teams that will represent Northern Ontario at a number of venues provincially and internationally. The successful candidate will also be involved in marketing services to the broader community of Northern Ontario youth and, in subsequent years, expand to meet the needs of a growing elderly population.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would be a recent university graduate in one of the following fields: Kinesiology, Physical and Health Education, Education, Health Promotion. Eligibility for registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO) and bilingualism would be an asset. Sport specific skills (e.g., baseball), proven leadership ability, and membership with related professional associations (e.g., Baseball Ontario, National Coaches Certification of Canada, Ontario Baseball Association, Canadian Fitness Education Services, Canadian Association of Exercise Physiology, Canadian Sport Psychology Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association) will be sought.

Featured Camps

Summer Camp

The Baseball Academy’s Summer Camp is its biggest event of the year.  The Camp is split into two groups with boys and girls ages 13 and under training together and boys and girls ages 14 and up training together.  The focus of the younger group is grass roots fundamentals and learning the game from the best in a fun setting. The older group continues with fundamentals and more advanced teaching.
